Facebook Pages

March 2nd, 2012

The Facebook (fan) pages have gotten a new look. It matches the same timeline design of the personal profile pages, which I still find confusing. The new design for the Pages won’t be forcibly implemented until March 30, but I decided to accept the design a little early to start getting used to it (even though I know I never will).

I can see what they are trying to do, but honestly I think they’re failing miserably. I really dislike this timeline design and feel it’s bulky and confusing. What do you think?

TWiT Live Mac App

June 9th, 2011

My best friend David Cann made a Mac app for TWiT.

TWiT Live for Mac

As you can see it’s pretty minimalistic. It allows you to watch your favorite TWiT Live programs.

Chat is integrated within the app. You can also pick which streaming you would like to use (HTML5, UStream, etc.).

It’s a great app and is available for free in the Mac app store! Please check it out. ^_^

Taptic Toys presents iPad telepresence robot at WWDC Keynote line

June 6th, 2011

I have this company called Taptic Toys. We make fun things. Here’s a little something we made and took to WWDC to show around.

It’s an iPad telepresence robot using FaceTime. In this video you will be able to see me using the robot to “attend” WWDC.

The robot got to roam around the Keynote line. I waved to many people and many people waved back (although some didn’t…) and I had quite a number of pictures taken of me too. :>

But what they didn’t know… was that I took a picture too!!!!

Here’s some of the press that we have gotten so far:

- PC World
- 9to5mac

A Sims Urge

May 7th, 2009

the_sims2_089_1680.jpg

Quite recently (in the past few weeks specifically) I have had a strong urge to play the Sims.

Okay Romina, what’s the big deal? Just play it.

I used to play the original Sims all of the time on my previous computer before switching to Mac. Upon switching I could not play any longer. At this point I have read that the original Sims is old technology and is not very compatible with Leopard. Oh, Leopard…

So why don’t you just play the Sims 2, Romina? Or better yet… why don’t you wait for the release of the Sims 3 this summer?

If only life were so simple. According to the Sims 3 website… the system requirements for playing this game are off the charts (by my standards). Unfortunately even if I did wait and buy the Sims 3, I would not be able to play it on my itty bitty Macbook, nor my Mini. Why do you do this to me?!?!?

As for the Sims 2… wouldn’t it be wiser to wait until the Sims 3 is released when a lot of people will probably be selling their Sims 2? I don’t particularly feel like investing $50 on a Sims 2 game. Any suggestions?

It’s quite the dilemma I know. Just wait until you hear about my issue between gnomes and ice cubes.
