A place to speak of cheese and things

Bullseye!

April 15th, 2012

I started doing archery 4 weeks ago. I go every Saturday and I love it.

Here is a video of me shooting an arrow for the very first time.

Yesterday I went to the range as usual. This time it was different because I shot my arrow right at the center of the target from 10 yards. (One of the instructors there told me that next time I have to start shooting from 20 yards.)

After this, it was the last round for everybody. On this round they place balloons in the center of the target with a prize inside and you can only shoot two arrows… from 20 yards. Yikes! But wait… just after my first arrow I got it right in the center again! A group of people were standing behind me, including two instructors, and they all yelled out when the balloon popped. At first I was sure I wasn’t the one who hit it, but everyone around me assured me that indeed it was my arrow that pierced through the balloon. Here I am collecting my prize:

I don’t know if it was a lucky shot or if I’m actually starting to get the hang of it, but either way it was a lot of fun! ^_^

Affordable J. Crew??

March 21st, 2012

GIRL POST: The other day I was at J. Crew and I decided to try on a dress with a belt and a matching headband. Much to my dismay, I checked the price on the dress and quickly scurried away.

Then I came home and decided to do an experiment. I went through every single product in the women’s section on the J. Crew website and added everything that I liked and wouldn’t mind having to the shopping cart. There were no rules or limitations. If it appealed to me, I threw it in there. Here is what I ended up with:

All of this can be purchased with a nice amount of $5,557.95 (this includes tax and such not seen in the photo above). So if anybody would like to contribute to this cause you are more than welcome to. ^_~

Lunch at the American Girl Cafe

March 15th, 2012

My “god-sister” is in town visiting this week. One of her daughters is celebrating her birthday this month in many ways (by that, I mean she’s already had about 4 different birthday celebrations). One of these celebrations was going to the American Girl Cafe to have some lunch. I was invited to this lunch. (:

Upon entering, we are greeted by some very energetic employees who are ready to seat you at your table and ask you to pick your American Girl. Both girls, Natasha and Katalina, quickly picked a couple dolls from the shelf.

They have special seats that attach to the edge of the table, so that the dolls can join us for lunch.

After we all got our drinks, the dolls also got cups for their orders too.

I ordered a tic-tac-toe pizza. It was delicious (and fun). ^_^

After the main course… the cake arrived! Natasha didn’t know she was going to get a cake. It was quite the surprise.

Here is a picture of all of us having a nice time.

Even McKenna got her party on with a balloon and goody bag.

The cake was delicious and served to us along with some ice cream.

The American Girl Cafe is located in their store. This is a private area that I thought looked really cool. I want to have my birthday here!

You can shop for dolls here and all of their accessories.
IMG_2555

They have a section for athletes.
IMG_2556

They even have pets for your dolls!

And, if your doll were to ever fall “ill”, you can bring her to get a check up and be admitted into their hospital.

I hope you enjoyed this long post. ^_~

Portraits

January 29th, 2012

Yesterday I spent the day having my portraits taken with the very talented photographer Emily Sandifer. Emily is a really awesome photographer and we had a lot of fun during our photo shoot yesterday. I still haven’t seen the pictures, but I can’t wait to get them so that I can share them with everyone because I know they’re going to be great!!

I need to get better at this

January 23rd, 2012

Okay so… I’m not that great at the blogging thing. I am trying though! For the past few months I have been in pre-production, production, and now post-production for a feature film which I produced and also act in. The movie is called The Insomniac if you want to check it out on IMDb.

My birthday was on friday the 13th so I had a get together for it. I also went on a mini road trip with my best friend and went swimming with beluga whales!

Anyway, I wish I could be better at keeping this updated!
