A Sims Urge

the_sims2_089_1680.jpg

Quite recently (in the past few weeks specifically) I have had a strong urge to play the Sims.

Okay Romina, what’s the big deal? Just play it.

I used to play the original Sims all of the time on my previous computer before switching to Mac. Upon switching I could not play any longer. At this point I have read that the original Sims is old technology and is not very compatible with Leopard. Oh, Leopard…

So why don’t you just play the Sims 2, Romina? Or better yet… why don’t you wait for the release of the Sims 3 this summer?

If only life were so simple. According to the Sims 3 website… the system requirements for playing this game are off the charts (by my standards). Unfortunately even if I did wait and buy the Sims 3, I would not be able to play it on my itty bitty Macbook, nor my Mini. Why do you do this to me?!?!?

As for the Sims 2… wouldn’t it be wiser to wait until the Sims 3 is released when a lot of people will probably be selling their Sims 2? I don’t particularly feel like investing $50 on a Sims 2 game. Any suggestions?

It’s quite the dilemma I know. Just wait until you hear about my issue between gnomes and ice cubes.

    Jay Croft says,

Never easy. And this solution may not be easy ether. Install VirtualBox http://www.virtualbox.org/ on your Mac. Install the Windows OS from your original computer if you have it. Then run your old sims on that.

VirtualBox is a free Virtual environment that you can run on Mac and install Windows on. Once Windows is running, then you can install and play your Sims.

I may do the same thing. I miss playing SimCity.

    Romina Espinosa says,

@Jay I wish it were so simple. I don’t own my original Sims anymore. :c

I also don’t know if I would go back to Windows just to play the Sims. My Mac prevails!

I appreciate the suggestion. I remember SimCity, although I never got attached to that game as much. :)
